Susan George Awarded MBE

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that our Founder, Susan George, has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours 2026 for her outstanding services to charity.

This prestigious honour recognises Susan’s dedication to supporting those living with, or affected by, cancer through the work of Lasting Life and My Things & Others.

Following the loss of her beloved husband, Simon MacCorkindale, to cancer in 2010, Susan made a commitment to continue his legacy by helping others facing similar challenges. What began as a personal promise has grown into two charitable initiatives that have raised funds, provided financial support, and brought hope to countless individuals and families.

Through Lasting Life, Susan has helped fund individuals and charitable causes, offering practical assistance where it is needed most. My Things & Others has brought together friends and supporters from across the entertainment industry, with donations of treasured items helping to generate vital funds that continue to make a real difference.

This honour is a testament to Susan’s compassion, determination and generosity, as well as the incredible support of everyone who has donated, volunteered, purchased items, or contributed to our work over the years. Every act of kindness has played a part in making Lasting Life what it is today.

Everyone at Lasting Life extends their heartfelt congratulations to Susan on this richly deserved recognition. We look forward to continuing our mission together—honouring Simon’s legacy by bringing hope, support and compassion to those who need it most.

Congratulations, Susan, on your well-deserved MBE.
