As with many charities and businesses, we too are facing the same challenging times due to COVID-19, and have had to make the hard decision to postpone all fundraising activities for this year. Consequently, this unfortunately means that we are unable to support any applications for funding at this time.

It is still to early to understand the impact that this crisis will have on charities going forward, but the intention of Lasting Life the Simon MacCorkindale Legacy, is to adapt to these changes so that we can, when possible, continue to raise funds to help those who need it most.

Applications for Funding:

Applications for funding are considered twice yearly by the Trustees of Lasting Life, the Simon MacCorkindale Legacy, in April and October.

Closing date for applications for each of these reviews are 30th March and 30th September respectively, each year.

The primary purpose of the funds is to help those dealing with cancer and its related issues.

Applications may be made by the potential recipient themselves, or on their behalf, and should include some detail of the reason for the need for funds, the type of service the funds are for and what the hoped for outcome might be.

The charity would like to be able to further promote fundraising by showing the benefits of the funds issued, so agreement to appearing in publicity is sought. However, this will not be the determining factor for the issuing of funds.

The charity would also seek to follow up with the recipient to see how they have got on with the service the funds purchased.

Whilst the charity may contact applicants for more information to help with their decision making if it is felt necessary, no canvassing from them or their nominator will be accepted.

We very much want to help and want to make this process of releasing funds as simple as possible, so that the money reaches those who need it, as quickly as possible.

With very best wishes.
